Platform Overview

Maritime Decarbonisation Platform

Every regulation. Every voyage. Every vessel. One platform for LNG operators navigating the 2025–2050 decarbonisation trajectory — with the numbers to actually make it work.

Every regulation that matters — one screen

Fragmented compliance workflows are the reason operators over-purchase EUAs, miss FuelEU pooling windows, and get D-rated on CII. VEMO consolidates all 5 regs into one voyage-level view.

Cap-and-trade

EU ETS Maritime

Per-voyage EUA liability with 100% phase-in (2026+), scope factors (100% intra-EU / 50% one-way), live EUA prices, quarterly surrender planning.

Intensity target

FuelEU Maritime

Well-to-Wake GHG intensity per voyage vs 2025–2050 targets. Pool balance projection across fleet + DoC. €2,400/t VLSFO-eq penalty in real time.

Operational rating

IMO CII

Attained CII per voyage, year-end projection, A-E band trajectory. D-3-consecutive / E-1 CAP risk flagged early. SEEMP Part III draft ready.

Technical rating

IMO EEXI

Attained vs Required EEXI per MEPC.350(78). EPL simulation, retrofit ROI vs fuel switch. IAPP renewal readiness check.

Reporting

EU MRV + IMO DCS

Auto-generated verifier-ready EU MRV per voyage + annual IMO DCS aggregate for flag state. THETIS-MRV compatible export.

2026+

UK ETS Maritime

Launched July 2026. Separate UKA allowance liability for UK-touching voyages. Modelled alongside EU ETS to avoid double-counting.

The 2050 pathway — where every LNG carrier sits

FuelEU tightens every 5 years. What LNG carriers do to stay compliant changes at each milestone. VEMO models the pathway.

2025 · -2%
LNG 2-stroke passes (76.4 vs 89.34). HFO/VLSFO already in deficit — pool with LNG or pay.
Baseline pool setup
2030 · -6%
Otto-cycle LNG (90.6) now marginal. LNG DFDE (82.4) still fine. Pool math tightens.
Engine-type strategy
2035 · -14.5%
Even LNG 2-stroke (76.4) approaching 77.94 limit. Bio-methanol blending or dropping in start.
Bio blend planning
2040 · -31%
Pure LNG no longer compliant. 20-30% bio-LNG or green ammonia blend required.
Retrofit horizon
2045 · -62%
Fossil fuel deployment approaching impossible. Green ammonia + e-methanol dominant.
Fleet renewal decisions
2050 · -80%
Near-zero-carbon fuels only. Green ammonia (4), e-diesel (3), bio-methanol (15.4) all compliant.

Why LNG operators pick VEMO over generic maritime tools

Generic maritime tools (ZeroNorth, OceanScore, Marorka, Signol) approximate LNG. They treat boil-off as a black box, use single-number LNG factors, ignore engine-type methane slip. That's fine for a 20-vessel tanker fleet but wrong for LNG carriers where BOG modeling and engine-type distinctions are 15-20% of total accuracy.

VEMO is LNG-native. 9 engine models (ME-GI, X-DF, DFDE, TFDE, ME-LGIP, ME-LGIA, steam, MEGI, Otto) with SFOC curves + pilot fuel + methane slip per engine. 4 containment systems (Moss, NO96, Mark III, Mark III Flex) with age-adjusted BOR. Forced BOG + reliquefaction + GCU dispatch modeled per voyage leg.

Frequently asked questions

Which regulations does VEMO cover?
EU ETS (Maritime), FuelEU Maritime, IMO CII, IMO EEXI, EU MRV, IMO DCS, UK ETS (from July 2026), Sea Cargo Charter, Poseidon Principles. All calculated per voyage from a single data entry.
Do you support non-LNG vessels?
All fuels and vessel types are supported — HFO/VLSFO/MGO/LPG/methanol/ammonia — but the platform's depth is in LNG. If your fleet is majority LNG carriers, VEMO is the best fit. For pure conventional tanker/bulk fleets, generic maritime tools may be sufficient.
How long does onboarding take?
One vessel: ~30 minutes via the guided onboarding wizard. Fleet of 15: half-day via CSV bulk import. All voyages backfilled from your last 12 months automatically if you upload noon report history.
What does it cost?
Starter €199/mo (1 vessel), Professional €499/mo (5 vessels), Fleet €999/mo (15 vessels), Enterprise custom (15+). 30-day free trial on all plans. See pricing details.
